My Poem

Claire

My sister was my lifelong friend,
until her life came to an end.

I wish we could have brought her home.
But we had to leave her all alone.

In the hospital bed, I watched her lay,
So peaceful, she would always stay.

I keep her memories as close as I can,
Her first few steps, holding my hand.

She always loved to climb her tree.
"I'll make it to the top" She once told me.

That day she made it to the top,
We never knew her heart would stop.

My mother held her in her arms.
She took her last breath; we weren't alarmed.

We knew where she went, where we'll all be someday.
In a beautiful land, far, far away.

She waits for her family there, we know.
But for now, everyone mourns her so:

That beautiful girl, my sweet little sister,
Is gone for now, and oh, how I miss her.

Delta- Bringing The World Together

Well...on my airplane trip, I had my fancy-pantsy journal I made in art. Sooo...I decided to write in it since I had no camera. So here was my entry.

April 14, 2009
Atlanta- 9:00 AM
Miami- 10:00 AM

Wow. That's basically all I can say. I'm on a comercial airline (Delta) that took off about 20 minutes or so ago and I can't beleive my eyes. Clouds everywhere. And I mean EVERYWHERE. Security was the worst part of pre-flight. Sorry about the wobbly handwriting - we're going through "some rough air" and my tummy's doing cartwheels. But back to pre-flight. So security was bad because you have to take off everything metal or loose on your body ( including for some strange reason your shoes, and any coats or windbreakers, ect.) and I forgot I had a belt on with a metal buckle on. Haha. The security lady was upset with me to say the least. My dad got a pass, so he could walk me to the gate. Ok-so the whole reason I'm flying to Florida anyways is because I'm meeting up with my friend Alexis and her family, because it's spring break. Ohh yeah! Hold on, flight attendents are coming. Ok, I'm back. And I have a water and some awesome-tasting cookies. They're called Biscoff...hmm...*puzzled look*. The flight attendants are both blondes,mid-fortys maybe? And the lady across the row looks busy with that laptop of hers-business woman? And me? I'm just a teen-I wonder what all the other passengers thin of me...I love flying. I may write again later. Chao...<3,
Abbie

My Week of Firsts in Reveiw... : ]

Well...this week has been pretty much crazy. So first of all, this week was spring break (yaayyyy!!) and my friend Alexis wanted me to go with her to Florida. But of course I needed to be home for Easter so I couldn't go down with them...but mom arranged for me to fly down...ok hre's my list...

1. First plane ride by myself.

2. First time going to Busch Gardens.

3. First upside-down crazy rollercoaster ride.

4. First time snorkeling.

I'm sure there's more...but that's all I can think of...

Snow White and the pig's heart...yuck!

OK, I will start off by telling you that yes, I DID write a new blog only a few hours ago, but I told mom and dad this story about my day today and they thought it would be good to write a blog about it. So now I will explain the title. You know in Snow White, where the hunter gets paid by that evil Queen to kill Snow White and bring her heart back?? And so they are on a walk, and of course, Snow White is all, "La-di-da-di-doo" singing with the birds and doing her own little princess thing and the hunter goes to stab her but he chickens out and goes all bonkers on her and tells her to run as fast as she can, so she does. And so now he brings the Queen back a pig's heart to try and fool her.
OK, so now that THAT'S cleared up, here's the story:
So a few weeks ago the seventh grade dissected frogs (their insides were dyed different colors, it was AWESOME!!!). At the same time we were learning about the heart and all of its parts. So one guy in my grade had some neighbors that had hunted and killed a pig, and so he went over and asked if he could have the heart to bring to science class (it was in an ice cream bucket filled with water haha!!). My science teacher showed it to my first block class when he brought it in (this was still a few weeks ago, not today). Now, a few weeks later, today actually my teacher had to light candles and spray febreez EVERYWHERE (every few minutes, really). You wanna know WHY??? Because he had had it in the freezer next to his room, and yesterday afternoon he took it out and put it on his counter to let it thaw, and it was rotten. So ALL up and down the seventh grade hall (and basically the rest of the school) it smelled like something had died in there. And I had him FIRST BLOCK, when it smelled the WORST!!!! Well, there you have it.

SUMMER COME SOONER!!!

There is no other season I love more than SUMMER!!!! I REALLY want to go outside at dusk and feel the warmth of the air, I love that feeling. And the feeling of the sudden chill when you first hit the water at the pool. Ahh! Just describing it makes me want summer! We only have a few more months of scool left, and I'm verry happy! I mean, school is great, but I'm so ready to wear shorts and ride my bike down the street again. So, for now I'm in school, staring out the window, wishing that today was the last day of school and I was free to spend my weekdays any way I'd like to. But I'm not complaining, just looking ahead. ttfn,
